Orange and ginger compound butter

 I love citrus, and pairing it with ginger is a natural combination.
Besides putting this on your toast or muffins, try it on pork or chicken.

Ingredients :

  1. 1 stick unsalted butter
  2. 1⁄4 teaspoon pure orange oil
  3. 1⁄4 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  4. 1⁄4 teaspoon kosher salt
Orange and ginger compound butter
Makes 1⁄2 cup

Instructions :

  1. Put the butter in a food processor fitted with the metal blade and process until smooth (or add the butter to a medium bowl and use a hand-held electric mixer).
  2. Add the orange oil, ginger, and salt and blend until combined.
  3. Transfer to a container and refrigerate. You can also form this into a log, wrap in plastic, and slice when ready to use. Use the butter within 1 week.


Lemon or lime oils are also great combined with butter.
