The ingredients for 4 people :

  1. 250 g ground beef
  2. 250 g ground pork
  3. 1 egg
  4. 30 cl of liquid cream (or milk)
  5. 1 onion
  6. 30 g breadcrumbs
  7. 2 potatoes
  8. 5 tablespoons of oil
  9. salt, white pepper, four spices (optional)

The preparation steps:

1. Peel, wash and cook the potatoes in a pot of water. You will let them cool once they are well cooked.

2. In the meantime, chop the onion and brown it in an oiled pan.

3. Mash the cooked potatoes.

4. Moisten the breadcrumbs with a little water. (You can make your own homemade breadcrumbs: coarsely crush stale bread or rusks and mix them.

5. In a bowl, mix the beef and pork (with your fingers).

6. Add the onions, mashed potatoes, breadcrumbs and heavy cream to the bowl. Season and mix everything.

7. Form balls with the palms of your hands or with two spoons.

8. Fry the meatballs in a pan of hot oil over low heat.

How to make the sauce for wasaafat meatballs?

Ingredients :

  1. 10 cl of liquid cream
  2. 20 cl of beef broth
  3. 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  4. 1 tablespoon of flour
  5. salt, white pepper

The preparation steps:

1. Deglaze the pan with the beef broth and soy sauce.

2. Add the cream and reduce for 5 to 10 minutes over medium heat.

3. Then pour in the flour, and cook until the mixture turns brown.

4. Salt and pepper, and simmer until the sauce begins to thicken.

5. You can add your meatballs to the pan and let them brown for 1 minute or pour the sauce directly over the meatballs on the plate.

Your Swedish meatballs are ready, serve them with steamed or mashed potatoes and enjoy!
